On Tuesday, 22nd April 2025, Yushikai Karate Academy had the distinct privilege of hosting Naka Tatsuya Sensei, a 7th Dan from JKA Headquarters, for an evening of exceptional budo karate training.
Recognised globally for his expertise, Sensei Naka’s visit was made possible through Yushikai's affiliation with JKA England. Students and instructors alike were eager to learn from his extensive knowledge and experience.
The evening began with a one-hour session tailored for Kyu grades, where Sensei Naka emphasised the importance of correct basic form, Kata, and Kumite. Participants were engaged in a well-structured class that provided both challenge and inspiration, catering to varying skill levels.
Following this, a two-hour session for black belts delved deeper into the fundamentals of JKA techniques. Sensei Naka focused on enhancing speed, proper body mechanics, and the generation of power. He expertly connected the principles of Kata and Kumite, creating a dynamic training environment filled with energy and enthusiasm.
Notably, Sensei Naka shared his appreciation for the strong standards at Yushikai on his personal X page, highlighting the quality of training and dedication of the students.
The event proved to be a remarkable experience, leaving all attendees feeling motivated and enriched in their JKA karate journey.
