Seven of our talented members have been selected to represent England at the prestigious JKA European Karate Championships in Bergen, Norway this week! They’ll be joining 15 other athletes from across the country, making up a strong 22-strong England team competing on Friday & Saturday.
Yushikai Chief Instructor and JKA England Team Head Coach, Dave Paulus, said:
“Our members make up about 30% of the team and I’ve got high hopes. Most of the team have been training with us since they were about 5 years old and it’s fantastic to see just how far they’ve come. Who’d have thought that those 5 year olds training after school would be competing for their country at international level? I’m really proud of what they’ve achieved.”
