Classes for children aged 6yrs +

Karate for children is not only great fun, but it provides many important benefits to young people to assist with their growth and development.

These benefits are referred to in Japanese as:

Chiiku (mental development)
Tokuiku (moral development)
Taiiku (physical development)

These are the same three classes of personal development found in traditional educational systems.

Chiiku (mental development)
Karate helps build concentration, focus, clear thinking and decisiveness. It also helps instil patience, discipline, perseverance, understanding and open-mindedness.
Students who study karate have increased confidence, develop self-control and have an improved sense of calmness, courtesy and peace.

Tokuiku (moral development)
Karate is profoundly helpful to young people and assists with ethical and moral dilemmas that can crop up in society. Bringing a sense of peace, balance and perspective; karate adds a strong foundation to a young person’s character as they seek to overcome everyday challenges and obstacles.

Taiiku (physical development)
Physically, karate is excellent for the heart, builds strong bones and bigger muscles and creates resilience. Karate also makes the body less susceptible to sickness and injury.
