Q What is it like being a beginner in a class?
A. Starting anything new can be a challenge so we teach beginners separately to the main group. This means you will be at the same level as the other people in the class.

Q. What about if I have friends who want to join?
A. Just give us a call in advance if they want their own information pack or bring them along with you to a class. We will do the rest.

Q. Will I get hurt?
A. Lots of people think karate is all about hurting, being hurt and being thrown around. Karate is a physical activity but we train on a controlled, light-contact basis and as a beginner, your training will not involve any throwing.

A. Beginners are always very welcome to start at any time!

Q. What about if I have done Karate before?
A. This is not a problem. Call us to let us know your karate background and we will advise you of the most suitable class.

Q. How do I find out what is going on in the club?
A. This website is updated regularly and we produce a quarterly newsletter for our members. We also distribute reminders of forthcoming events at the end of training sessions. We may also send you information through the post.

Q. How often are gradings?
A. Kyu Gradings are held every three months in March, June, September and December.

A. Your Instructor will let you know when you have achieved the required standard.
