The Yushikai Karate Academy was established in 1994, starting in various halls around the area, until it made Radford Crescent in Billericay its permanent training base in 2008.

We are dedicated to making your martial arts experience both enjoyable and educational and have produced many Black Belts and National Champions. Our Chief Instructor has studied and trained for many years and was graded to 4th Dan at the headquarters of the Japan Karate Association (JKA) in Tokyo.

We will help you acquire effective self-defence skills and at the same time we provide a comprehensive programme for personal development. Although we honour centuries-old martial arts traditions, we are not static. We constantly seek new and innovative ways to enthuse and excite our students.

The Academy has hosted many high profile visitors, including Japanese Instructors, such as Sensei’s OHTA (7th DAN), HIRAYAMA (5th DAN), OSAKA (8th DAN), CHUBACHI (3rd DAN) and NAKA (6th Dan).

We are also involved with serving our local community. In addition to operating classes 7 days a week from our full time dojo, we teach regularly at Sunnymede Infants and Junior Schools, Brightside Primary School, Quilters Primary School, South Green Infant School, Mayflower High School and The Billericay School.
